Pitchfork Announces First Round Of Bands

Tickets for this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival went on sale today, and as promised organizers announced a few bands that will be appearing at the annual Chicago event, scheduled for July 16-18 at Union Park.

Saying more bands will be announced in the coming weeks, the festival named Modest Mouse as appearing on Friday, July 16; LCD Soundsystem and Raekwon booked for Saturday, July 17 and Pavement headlining the list of bands announced for Sunday, July 18.

Also listed as appearing on Pitchfork’s last day are St. Vincent, Lightning Bolt, Cass McCombs, Here We Go Magic and Sleigh Bells.

Tickets for Pitchfork went on sale at high noon Chicago time with single day tickets going for $40 and three-day passes priced at $90. For more information, click here for the Pitchfork Music Festival Web site.
